Occupational Health Services

Why Services Like Mine Are Needed

There has never been a more crucial time for companies to find alternatives to relying on the NHS for Physiotherapy. Rapid access to Physiotherapy management and treatment is vital to address problems before they become chronic and start costing your company through increased sickness absence.

The NHS waiting list for physiotherapy is usually from 6-12 weeks and in some cases longer. In this time your employee could be absent from work costing your business and the employee money. The Physio Joint Can rapidly reduce this wait giving your employee the treatment they require and enabling patient management and return to work as soon as possible.

My History And Proccesses

The Physio Joint occupational health service consults with companies nationally. Some of the companies I have worked with include Sellafield Ltd, Viridor, Vauxhall Motors Ltd & Veolia.

I believe in strong teamwork & the cultivation of a collaborative working relationship with all areas of a business and staff including management, occupational health departments, human resources to health and safety.

Once your employee is referred for physiotherapy or one of our services you are kept informed of their progress in the form of an initial and final discharge report. This report will also make any necessary work recommendations or adaptions. All of the latest guidelines on GDPR are taken into consideration along with the legal regulations for consent and reporting.

Benefits To Your Workforce And Business

Having a healthy and more productive workforce means cost savings to your company. An average of 6.3 days is lost per employee per year due to absenteeism and illness with many of the reasons for this coming from musculoskeletal causes. Employers face costs of up to £522 a year per employee on average, and in excess of this for higher value employees. I am able to mitigate this loss of time and money whilst helping employers save costs and increase productivity.

Many industries require staff to be able to perform a number of manual handling related tasks. If staff have poor manual handling technique then they may be at risk of an increased incidence of work-related musculoskeletal disease & injury. 40% of all work-related absence is due to manual handling injuries, however many of these could be prevented with good manual handling analysis and optimized movement patterns designed to minimize musculoskeletal injury.
